I have loved writing ever since, as a girl, I won a prize in an ABC Children’s Radio story competition. My adult writing was channelled into studies and career as an organisational psychologist. Since 2001 I satisfied my writing itch with creative stories for my grandchildren including photobooks, cards and calendars, which have also captured my love of photography. Now retired, I enjoy incorporating the landscapes of Western Australia into my fiction. In 2019, together with my sister, Geraldine Janicke, I published the journey of my Dutch heritage, Leaving Home, the first volume of letters and photographs documenting the life of our mother in the Netherlands between the First and Second World Wars. Spaces Between is my first novel.
